Survived by her husband, Jack, daughter, Heather (Don), grandchildren, Mandy (Marc), Jaclyn (Cam), Lacey (Janick), and six great-grandsons, Cole, Ryder, Jacks, Oliver, Xander and Blaze. Ruth is predeceased by her son, Tim, her siblings, Beryl, Marion, Bernice, Keith and her parents, Anne and Leland Rose. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews for her compassionate, kind, generous and adventurous spirit.
She was an amazing, incredibly accomplished woman, a wife, mother, pilot, teacher, community volunteer, leader and world traveller. She inspired and encouraged. Her passion was empowering women, and she did so as a leader and trainer in the Girl Guide organization and as an instructor at St Lawrence College.
As a longtime member of Glenburnie United Church. Ruth volunteered, organized and coordinated their local food drive as well as delivered homemade soup, pies, bread and jam to the lonely, sick and bereaved. For many years, she organized and collected cans for Habitat for Humanity.
Although a world traveler, her favourite place was on Loughborough Lake surrounded by family and friends in a cottage built over 80 years ago by Ruth and her father. Ruth will be greatly missed.
