Remembering June at St. Lawrence College...
June received an Award of Merit during the Recognition Night of 1988, the year of her retirement. The SLICK issue of April 1988 described her presentation as follows:
June ascended the stage to a thunderous round of applause and a standing ovation, to receive her Award of Merit. It was one of the few times that I remember seeing June short for words. She was visibly overwhelmed. June will be retiring this year and is recognized by all staff to be someone who has exemplified all college beliefs. Her attitude of caring and concern for students is a model for us all. We will certainly miss her and hope that even in retirement she will remain a part of us.
