Do you remember the name of the staff party room on the 4th floor on Kingston Campus, and why it was called that particular name?

The Battleship Room is the answer to the first half of the question I believe

Let's get to the tough ones—why did the space exist, what was it intended to be, what feature gave visitors cause to wonder and how was it used by college programs and the community?

A significant escalation in this scenario, but let's see if folks can answer these additional questions. First, I should mention that mystery Brian (could it be a fellow named Murphy?) is correct on the first part of the question. We still need to know why it was called the Battleship Room, plus all the other matters raised by Ron

For several years in the early days, S.L.C ran a 3 yr Theatre Arts program. Roger Dunn was in charge - and we actually had live theater there. After that program was closed down, the room was just one more space, often used as a classroom. The name came from the colour. Dark grey works for theatre, but not for more general uses
