Terri McDade
candidate for school board trustee for District 5,6 and 8 (Portsmouth, Trillium, Meadowbrook and Strathcona)
I have put my name forward as a candidate for school board trustee for District 5,6 and 8 (Portsmouth, Trillium, Meadowbrook and Strathcona) in the upcoming municipal election on October 22,2018. (https://www.cityofkingston.ca/documents/10180/23656166/Election2018_ElectoralDistrictsMap.pdf/ab986e75-d797-43b4-92e7-fa2ad28bb891)
I feel strongly that my lifelong career in education, coupled with my extensive volunteer experience makes me an excellent candidate for this position. I am passionate about education at all levels; elementary, secondary, and post-secondary, and have been a strong advocate for children and youth throughout my career. I believe student access and student success are critical to personal well-being and to the health of our communities. I am committed to supporting learning opportunities and programs that meet the strategic priorities of the Limestone District School Board; through Collaboration, Innovation and Wellness these goals can be achieved.
My background includes serving on several boards in various positions including President/Chair; Ontario Association for Child and Youth Workers, Frontenac,Lennox and Addington Children's Aid Society, The Ontario Association of Children Aid Societies and currently, Pathways to Education Kingston and Dress for Success. This knowledge of governance, fiscal responsibility and leadership in directing policies and priorities is a strength I will bring to the role of school board trustee.
Many of you do not live in these districts but I am hoping you will help spread the word on my behalf.
I hope I can count on your vote on October 22,2018.
Many thanks for your support and friendship,
Terri
