Coffee & Conversation
April 10, 2019
Some three dozen retirees turned up for our "Coffee & Conversation" gathering on April 10, 2019.
Our intrepid reporter Dick Tindal (aka the Association's social convenor) says It was nice to see some new or fairly recent members of the Association, along with “the usual suspects” – many of whom you will doubtless recognize in the photos below ( or click on the Events link in the navigation bar.)
In addition to the retirees assembled, there were (a) some containers of honey from “Bill and the Bees” (mostly spoken for in advance), (b) some copies of a CD of Irish songs by retiree Eithne Dunbar (also featured at our website), and (c) an impressive number of donations by attendees for Dawn House, the charity which our Association chose to support over this past year. Maggie McLaren is Executive Director of Dawn House.
Members of our Association were invited to donate items that are often in short supply at Dawn House. The generous response from those attending is evident from the well-filled trunk of Hugh McLaren’s car, seen in photos below, leaving Coffee & Conversation, enroute to Dawn House.
