We're looking for a logo.
Care to compete?
Dick Tindal, Social Convenor
SLC Retirees Association
It has been determined that the Retirees Association should have its own logo. To illustrate what such a logo might look like, I have included below the one for the college. [Not long after this was adopted, one observer (who shall be nameless) remarked that it resembled “two sharks mating in the Red Sea” – but I digress.]
You are invited to develop your suggestion for an Association logo and to submit it to [email protected] no later than April 6. This deadline is needed so that all entries can receive proper scrutiny and a winner determined in time to announce the name at the “Coffee and Conversation” event on Wednesday April 15. This event is tentatively scheduled for the first floor lounge at 1066 King Street West (a frequent location), but that will be confirmed in a subsequent mailing.
For now, please mark the date on your social calendar and get your creative juices flowing with respect to a logo for this venerable Association.

And then there was this beauty from the "Old Days."
Our webmaster has provided additional background on the nature of a logo and I am hoping it will be helpful for those who may wish to enter our contest.
With some assistance from “Mr. Google,” he explains that a logo is a symbol, name, or trademark that is immediately identifiable and identified. Some, like Exxon and FedEx, have the name in the logo. Others have a widely recognized image – such as the Apple with the bite in the side or the Nike swoosh.
Webmaster: It has been suggested that our logo should incorporate our name and some image or symbol that will convey the nature of our organization e.g. a hammock with our name along the side of it. We trust this has been submitted in jest.
