Maurice was born in Crystal Springs, Saskatchewan and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan studying Engineering and Physics. He moved to Montreal where he met his wife Gisele and together they settled in Cornwall, Ontario in 1967.
Mo enjoyed his career as a teacher in the Engineering Department at St. Lawrence College. He was passionate about sports, particularly baseball and hockey, both as a player and a fan. He loved music from country to classical. Mo played various instruments and encouraged his children to appreciate and participate as well.
Mo's biggest joy came from his family. He spent countless hours driving his children to and from dance, music, and swim lessons. Mo loved working outdoors and was always there to help with Gisele's garden (making sure her rows were straight). He was interested in his grandchildren's dreams and was invested and willing to help make them happen. He loved reading, punctuality, and strawberry shortcake.
