Recently Ruth Tracy sent along these reminiscences:
- Maureen’s Boxing Day dinners were really special... She’d tell us to shop the sales to our heart’s content, but to be sure to turn up at 580 Union St for dinner - as if anyone would consider refusing! She was a superb chef and could have easily filled in instructing students in the college’s Essence dining room.
- Maureen’s ‘critters’ .... she’d had a large deck added to her house, and late afternoon in the summer would sit out, enjoying her afternoon tea /early supper – and wait for the wild life to join her (and her cats). Momma racoon and her family, a well-behaved skunk – all lined up on the deck, each with its own dish of cat kibble – everyone getting along. Those pictures were priceless – I’d love to have a print!
