She was born in Leamington, Ontario to Helen Poore and Alexander Robertson (Elgin, Scotland) on March 23, 1928. Married to the late Harold Anderson for over 47 years. Loving Mum to Janet Anderson (the late Ross Cholmondeley), Susan Tadic and Alex Anderson. Beloved Nana to Karen (Jeremy), Ian and Adam Cholmondeley; Elliot and Stephen Tadic; Ashley Hilliard-Anderson, and Brooke (Dylan) and Kyle Anderson. Survived by her sister Sandra Schneller (Brad), niece Ann Schneller and nephew David (Susanne) Schneller.
Jane graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics in 1951 and worked for the Ministry of Agriculture as a Home Economist. Her later career spanned 22 years with St. Lawrence College, including several years at the Kingston Prison for Women, teaching math, english, science and life skills. Jane will always be remembered for her sense of humour, creativity, and how everything would remind her of a song. She was kind, generous, thoughtful, strong-willed and knew how to speak her mind. She was a force of nature, the “Energizer Bunny” and she is already dearly missed.
Thank you to the wonderful staff on Kidd 5 at the Kingston General Hospital for their kind and gentle palliative care. Also, much appreciation for 8 ½ years of smiles and dedicated care by the dialysis unit at KGH.
