Uncommon. The Campaign for St. Lawrence College is the name of newly launched drive to raise $11.5 million for five college priorities. These include the construction of the Student Life & Innovation Centre and the new home for CEBRIC (the Centre for Education, Behavioural Research and Intervention in the Community) which was established in 2013. The other three priorities are to upgrade the College’s Health Care Simulation Labs, establish the Evergreen Fund for instructional equipment purchases, and add to the endowment for Student Financial Assistance. |
The fundraising campaign got off to a spectacular start with the announcement of a $3 million dollar gift from philanthropist and entrepreneur Brit Smith. He is the head of Homestead Holdings, and former Kingston Campus employees Marg Matheson and I rent units in one of the Homestead apartment buildings. Coincidence – I think not!
