The Retirees Association hosted three events on June 24 as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of SLC and the community college system. Various folks dropped in, at least briefly, at the Welcome Centre held in the Essence Restaurant and then some 60 former staff gathered at the mix and mingle social event at the Cataraqui Golf Club between 4 and 6. Thirty-six people stayed on to attend the dinner at the Club, which featured opening remarks from June (Morton) Clarke about the beginning of the college, and also a "shaggy dog story" that had the audience joining in on the recurring punch line. There was lots of lively conversation. The photos that follow are from both the social gathering and the dinner.
