#4. Who taught Math at the college, went on secondment to St. Lucia, and engaged in epic battles on the squash courts with Dick Tindal that would surely have gone viral on Youtube had videos of them existed?

We have a winner - and for the second time it is Brad. We may have to ban this fellow from future contests. In light of ethical controversies everywhere, and given the fact that Brad and I have been friends for many a decade, I must emphasize that he has NOT received any insider information with respect to this contest.

At a SLC Retiree coffee gathering prior to covid Larry told me about his family history in Canada. Larry can trace his history to one of the first European settlers. Have him tell you more. Quite fascinating.

Larry is still a keen sportsperson and can be seen regularly playing golf at the Colonnade Golf Club, often in the company of his wife Lise. Unlike a certain president of the excited states, he rarely drives his cart onto the greens.

Larry and I were pretty evenly matched as squash players and he was a master tactician at offsetting the one potential advantage that I had. If there were long rallies, he often seemed to get more winded – which probably shouldn’t be totally surprising since I have often been accused of being full of hot air. In any event, when this happened, Larry would discover the need to retie his running shoes, or to examine the squash ball to see if it was getting soft, or to go to his gym bag for a new ball, or take off his extra top (or put it back on again), or …. It took me a while to catch on to his stratagems because he varied the delaying tactics quite well.
