Annual General Meeting 15 May, 2019
The Annual General Meeting of our Association was held on May 15, 2019 at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club. Members gathered for coffee from 10:30 a.m.: Nancy Sudak, association president, called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.
The AGM was above par in every way, reports Dick Tindal, social convener. “We had a good turnout of more than 30 folks for the meeting itself, most of whom stayed to enjoy one of the three lunch choices provided by the Golf Club.”
He adds that many of the “usual suspects” were there, a few regulars were missing, but it was very nice to see a number of retirees who have not usually attended. “I won’t name them, lest they feel singled out,” says Dick, “but you may spot them among the photos in the AGM slideshow.” (See below)
In his report Dick commends Association President Nancy. He notes that “she professed some nervousness at chairing her first AGM but did a fine job.”
He lamented, however, that Nancy “picked on the Social Convener (aka Dick) making him speak to several items in spite of his shyness.”
He was pleased that “she finished the meeting ahead of schedule, leaving more time for attendees to visit the bar before the lunch was served. She even had an explanation for why the college flag was flying at half mast that day – pointing out that Tim Conway had just died.”
The agenda included reports on membership, finances and the social convenor. Minor amendments to the constitution were approved and the executive was confirmed for another one-year term. The position of secretary remains vacant. Presentations were made to outgoing executive members Clare Rayner and Anne Breault. (See below)
