“I’m honoured to present the C. Richard Tindal Award of Merit to the person who has been the glue that has held our Association together, to the man himself, Mr. C. Richard Tindal ... Dick to us!” said Nancy Sudak, outgoing president of the association.
Nancy said that the award —to be presented annually— was created to give formal recognition to recipients for their dedication to the development and success of SLC and exceptional support of the SLC Retirees Association and to recognise their collaborative strength, career and individual work ethic.

In other AGM news…
Nancy reported that we have created an annual SLC Retirees Association Student Bursary for $500.00 that will be awarded through the College’s bursary process. The Criteria for selection was determined by our Association. A ‘thank you’ letter from the Awards Office has been received.
The association’s annual donation to a local charity goes this year this year to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Kingston is mandated to provide practical assistance and support to individuals and families residing in the Kingston area. All services are provided in a compassionate and respectful manner, which reflects and reinforces the dignity and humanity of all persons.
Among its other work, the Society offers a hot lunch “to go” between the hours of 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday – Friday, for those in need of food; the Emergency Food Pantry is opened to anyone in the community in need of food; the Wearhouse is open Monday to Friday from 9 am -1 pm.
