Annual Golf Tournament
& 19th Hole Social
was very successful
September 3, 2019
Dick Tindal. Social Convenor
The weather was pleasant, the turnout was excellent, the conversations (as usual) were non-stop, and everyone seemed to have a great time NOT being at the college for the first day of classes in September.
History was made at this year’s event
when a women’s team won the annual golf tournament

Another first this year was attendance by the senior St. Lawrence College management member responsible for liaison with the Retirees Association – Kathy O’Brien (Senior VP, Strategy, Communications, and Advancement), shown here with Association President Nancy Sudak.
Kathy kindly provided a number of gifts that were raffled off to raise funds for the Student Emergency Fund. Over $200 was raised, with all tickets being sold, for a chance to win one of the prizes – a golf shirt, an SLC Ladies Hoodie, two SLC ceramic mugs, and a pair of pajamas.
In addition, a large number of SLC pens were provided and were distributed to all in attendance at the conclusion of the raffle. Co-host Jerry seemed quite taken with the pajamas and there was some concern that he might not give them up when a winner tried to claim them. [Groucho Marx stated that he once shot an elephant in his pajamas, adding “how he got in my pajamas, I have no idea” – but I digress.]
