A rather strange photo, but then again, this long ago employee was a rather eccentric character himself.

Teacher: Maria, go the map and find North America.
Maria: Here it is. Teacher: Correct. Now class, tell me who discovered North America? Class: Maria Teacher: Donald, what is the chemical formula for water? Donald: H I J K L M N O Teacher: What you talking about? Donald: Yesterday you said it was H to O. I called your house the other day and was told you were down at your favourite biker bar with some friends. I wasn't sure where that was, but was told I wouldn't have much trouble finding it. Sure enough, I drove just a couple blocks and there it was...
There is nothing like the feel of the sun on your face and the wind in your hair, is there? A couple of folks were pretty quick identifying photo #2 - Paul McLaughlin. How about this fellow? Post a comment about who he is and tell us something about him while you're at it. Please consider as well, sending photos that you have - of colleagues from the College - so that we might include them in this ongoing feature. Any photos should be scanned into your computer and sent to [email protected] or [email protected] This is a new feature that I hope will run for a number of weeks. The plan is to provide a photo of someone who worked at the College. You are asked to post a comment, identifying this person. Better still, please post some recollections of the person, some personal memories that you have, some stories about this individual and her time at SLC. Here is the mystery photo #1. Let's hear from you.
We are told to learn new skills as a way of keeping our minds sharp as we age. If this is true, I'm going to be quite the brilliant old chap, given how much I am in the process of learning about setting up a website for the Retirees Association and then setting up a dedicated Facebook page as well - for those of our members who are already on Facebook and find it easier to follow us there. Since many others (we have been given to understand) aren't on Facebook - and don't intend to join - this Association website has been created as our primary Internet connection. While much younger than me, and therefore less in need of new skills to stimulate his mind, Vincent Durant has also been working on these new Internet initiatives and has been a great help.

InformationThis page is intended as a vehicle for retirees to provide stories about their activities, travels, travails, and just about anything that they want to share. Our Association members will be advised how to submit items for this page. Write to us at [email protected]. Something to smile about when you are confined to homeYou have to laugh or go crazy today so we are inviting members to post the funny things they have found and to comment on those we post.
