Some 35 members of the SLC Retirees Association attended the spring Coffee and Conversation event on April 20. The new venue – the first floor lounge in the high rise apartment building whose tenants include retirees Marg Matheson and Dick Tindal – was very well received. As usual, folks starting chatting happily as soon as they arrived (as will be evident from the photos below). But I’d like to offer thanks to those who contributed to the success of this event with “behind the scenes” efforts before and after the gathering. In particular, a big thank you to: (1) Ruth and Clare, who baked enough cookies and cake to fee the entire apartment building, (2) Anne, who delivered the boxes of coffee and Timbits from Tim Horton’s, and (3) Marg, who came down to the lounge early to help get things set up and who stayed to tidy up and put everything back in place. Thanks also to any others that I have inadvertently overlooked. We hope to have several more social gatherings in 2016, since they are always well attended and much enjoyed.
