The annual Golf Tournament and 19th hole Social was very well received again this year. The sunny weather on September 6th matched the mood of the approximately 50 SLC retirees who gathered at The Landings. The day began with six teams of golfers heading out, beginning around 11 am. By the time folks began arriving at 4 for the 19th hole, many golf groups were off the course and quenching their thirst.
The winning team was the “Technology Group,” who after many years of being “bridesmaids” in the tournament, pulled off a convincing victory. Upon learning of their victory, they thought they had won the new Honda that was parked on the golf course and ran over to get their picture taken with the new car. The photo on the opening screen of this website shows Ron Robinson making a presentation – which was not the new Honda – to the winners.
As usual, the inside and outside seating areas at The Landings were filled with lively conversation and much laughter.
Thanks to Anne Breault for arranging the snacks provided by The Landings and to the culinary quartet of Clare Rayner, Ruth Doran, Catherine Wilkes, and Nancy Sudak, for augmenting the food supply with a prodigious pile of sandwiches.
